Hello from the Daffodil Class!
We are busy learning all about the signs of spring. We are enjoying spring poems and singing songs of spring during circle time. We have been taking nature walks to see the wonderful changes that spring brings, such as beautiful daffodils and newborn lambs. We are hoping to have a special visit from a baby lamb.
We got very creative with paint and bun cases to make our own daffodils, and they turned out wonderfully. We have also been learning all about friendships and how important they are. We are reading and enjoying different stories about friendship. We are learning to accept that everyone is different, embracing those differences, and always supporting our friends.
We have great fun in drama, playing different roles from various stories and rhymes, and practising our own dance moves. We made pancakes in our cookery class and enjoyed a pancake party for Pancake Tuesday. Sugar and butter were our favourite toppings for our delicious pancakes.
We also had fun learning about St Brigid’s Day, and Rosemary, our SNA, showed us how to make St Brigid’s crosses. We made beautiful Valentine’s crafts, such as Valentine’s cards for our loved ones, as well as tasty treats. We are very artistic and have made prints using our fingers, hands, and feet.
We are developing our language and communication skills by using Lámh signs and our pictures and objects of reference throughout the day, especially during circle time. We are also enjoying pre-writing and colouring activities. We love maths in the Daffodil Class and are doing very well with our classifying, matching, and numeracy. We are great at using our problem-solving skills!
We look forward to planting flowers and learning even more about spring. We had our own class parade for St Patrick’s Day, and we have so much more fun ahead in the Daffodil Class.
Come back soon to hear all about the fun we get up to in the Daffodil Class!
