This term has been a busy and exciting term for the Buttercup Class!
We had great fun celebrating Valentine’s Day, creating beautiful cards and themed artwork while learning about friendship and kindness. We also thoroughly enjoyed Pancake Tuesday, where everyone helped with mixing, cooking and, of course, tasting our delicious pancakes. It was a wonderful opportunity to practise our cookery skills and work together as a team.
Circle time continues to be an important part of our daily routine. We enjoy sharing our news, listening to one another and building confidence in communication. Our daily breakfast club helps us develop independence skills, and we love taking turns preparing and serving food. Each week we also take part in cookery and baking sessions, making tasty treats while learning to measure ingredients and follow recipes carefully.
In Visual Arts, we have been exploring our creativity through painting and working with clay. The students have enjoyed experimenting with colour, texture and different techniques. Using clay has been a fantastic sensory experience and has helped to develop fine motor skills as we shape and design our own creations.
We have been keeping active with regular walks and P.E. sessions, helping to build co-ordination, teamwork and overall fitness. Trips into the local community are always a highlight. This month, we have been practising our money skills by planning and completing our weekly shop. The students are becoming more confident in recognising coins, handling money and understanding the value of everyday items.
In Maths, we are focusing on tens and units to strengthen our understanding of place value. In literacy, we have been working on grammar, news writing and developing our typing skills. The students are making excellent progress in expressing their ideas clearly and using technology to support their learning.
We also continue to engage in our daily personal care routines, promoting independence and self-confidence in everyday life skills.
We are very proud of all the hard work, creativity and positive attitudes shown by the Buttercup Class this month. Well done everyone!
